Windows for Vets Giveaway: Helping Veteran Families in Need

At Centennial Home Improvement, we believe in giving back to those who have given so much. That’s why we’re proud to announce our Windows for Vets Giveaway, created to help local veteran families who are in need of safer, more efficient windows but cannot afford the cost.

This winter, we will be giving away five (5) double-hung replacement windows to two veteran families in our community.

Why We’re Doing This

Many veterans live on fixed or limited incomes. Unfortunately, old, drafty, or damaged windows can lead to:       

• Higher heating costs

• Cold drafts during Iowa winters

• Moisture issues and condensation

• Decreased home comfort and safety

For families already struggling financially, replacing windows simply isn’t possible. This giveaway is our way of helping where it matters most — providing real improvements that make a daily difference.

What We’re Giving Away

• Five (5) double-hung vinyl replacement windows

• Professionally installed by our experienced team

• High-quality, energy-efficient windows designed for Iowa weather

These windows will be awarded to two veteran families who demonstrate a genuine need.

Who Should Apply?

This giveaway is intended for:

• Veterans who cannot afford to purchase replacement windows

• Veteran families experiencing financial hardship

• Homes where window replacement would significantly improve comfort, safety, or efficiency

How the Selection Process Works

To ensure this giveaway reaches the families who need it most, we will follow a thoughtful and respectful process:

1. Entry Submission
   Veterans (or those nominating a veteran) will submit an entry for the giveaway.

2. Veteran Verification
   We will confirm veteran status for all selected applicants.

3. In-Home Meeting
   Our team will meet with each applicant to:

   • Learn about their situation

   • Discuss our replacement windows

   • Inspect existing windows

   • Evaluate the home’s specific needs

4. Final Selection
   During the first week of February, we will carefully review all applicants and select two veteran families to receive the windows.

Our goal is fairness, transparency, and making sure this help goes to those who truly need it.

• Giveaway Entry Period: 1/7/2025 – 1/31/2025

• Home Meetings & Inspections: Ongoing after entry review

• Winners Announced: By February 6th, 2026
